Hi, Patrice here.
Me, Patrice, currently:
Self-proclaimed BoujeeRatchademic. I’m pursuing a PhD. So, you’ll ultimately have to put the “Dr.” in front of that or I probably won’t respond (insert nail polish emoji). I’m halfway through year two, technically, as I’ve transferred from the program I was initially enrolled in. My research interests are around black women and their experience in higher education. Vague maybe, but so is my handle on life.
I also enjoy all the boujee things found on lists about the behaviors of black professionals (see: boozy brunch). And, you might occasionally find me somewhere reciting all the words to “Itty Bitty Piggy” in the mirror with a comb microphone. So if you’re wondering about the blog name… lol
What You’ll Find Here
Here at this blog, you’ll get all the tea on how I navigate the crossroads of university life, black womanhood, “boujee” tendencies, my relationship to religion/spirituality/Jesus, and general blackity blackness. And, hopefully, you’ll chuckle while taking a note or two. My goal is to share. Connect. Inspire.
Finally, you should see a new post here every Sunday. (Emphasis on should, yall pray my strength, always.)
This Space is for Us
Welcome to my blog and may all your boujee, ratchademic needs be fulfilled in these pages. One post at a time, this thing is taking shape. As history points out, if we don’t carve out these spaces, they’d never exist. That said, if you ever have an idea for a post you want to see, don’t hesitate to contact me, or send me a message on one of my social media platforms. I also accept submissions to have an original post from you featured on this blog.
